Lillian Axe is one of my favorite bands, and "Living in the Grey" fits this paintings quite well.
The painting is a purely imagined mess that poured out of me one day, and I really like it. I've been meaning to do ten more like it, but inspiration isn't something one can force.
No wife... no kids... you reach a certain age, and you start to wonder what impact you had on the world, what legacy you're leaving behind. I'm leaving these paintings behind... If a hundred years after I'm dead, someone sees something they like, that's good enough for me.
